2017 CNU Charter Awards
Since 2002, CNU's annual Charter Awards have recognized outstanding achievements in architectural, landscape, and urban design and planning, as defined by the Charter of the New Urbanism. Regarded as the preeminent award for excellence in urban design, the CNU Charter Awards honors a select number of winners and honorable mentions—including one grand professional prize and one grand academic prize for students. Winning projects represent major contributions to building more equitable, sustainable, connected, healthy, and prosperous communities.
We are pleased to welcome Stephanie Bothwell, CNU fellow and principal at Stephanie Bothwell Urban and Landscape Design, LLC, as this year's jury chair.
The categories for this year's awards are:
- THE REGION: METROPOLIS, CITY & TOWN
- NEIGHBORHOOD, DISTRICT, & CORRIDOR
- THE BLOCK, STREET, & BUILDING
- SMALL-SCALE INTERVENTIONS
Submissions will be accepted starting November 7, 2016 and closing January 6, 2016 at midnight. Winners will be announced at CNU 25, May 3-6, 2017 in Seattle, WA.
